2005 ACTF Trip to Bloomington/Normal, Illinois

The University of Indianapolis faculty-directed production of Samuel Beckett's Endgame was selected to participate in the 37th annual Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival, hosted by Illinois State University in Bloomington/Normal, Illinois January 11-16, 2005. The company of over 30 cast, crew, faculty, staff, and friends spent a busy six days at the festival. Students Adam Driver and his partner, Christopher Redmon, represented the University of Indianapolis in the Irene Ryan Acting Competition at the Region III Festival in Bloomington/Normal, Illinois.  Adam and Christopher advanced to the final round of 16 out of over 450 competitors.  Joanna Cate and her partner, Nikki Grotenhuis, Sam Fain and his partner Bethany Lillis, Courtney Bianchi and her partner, Ryan O'Shea, and Brian Glunt and his partner Delia Neylon also represented UIndy well in the competition. Student designers Rissa Guffey, Kristen Sollenberger, and Kristin Fife competed at the festival for national design awards. The Endgame company loaded in, performed, and loaded-out the production. The show was a great success and we played three sold out performances.  After the festival, the national selection committee recognized the following for their work on Endgame:  Jeffrey Barnes (Staff Production Manager/Technical Director) for Technical Direction, Rissa C.J. Guffey for lighting design, Joshua McKee for properties design, Kristin Fife for costume design, Kristin Sollenberger for hair/make-up design, and finally the production design. 

Directed by UIndy faculty member, Brad Wright, Endgame was one of only twelve shows chosen from among 65 college productions in a five state region to be performed at KC/ACTF's Region III festival. The production was originally performed in The University of Indianapolis Studio Theatre in November and December of 2004.  Kristin Sollenberger and Kristin Fife received meritorious awards for Hair/Make-up and Costume design respectively.  These Certificates of Merit are awarded by the region for particularly significant production contributions. Endgame cast members Jeff Dalstrom, Adam Driver and Sam Fain were nominated to compete in the Irene Ryan Acting Scholarship Competition for their work on the original production.
