Jim has worked with numerous Indianapolis theatres, including Indianapolis Civic, Edyvean Repertory Theatre, and the Phoenix Theatre. His designs have received three Corbin Patrick Award nominations and the best set design award for Phoenix Theatre's production of Fences. Other scenic design credits include: One Voice, Ten Ten Theatre, New York; Noises Off, Brainerd, MN; Et Ta Soeur, Indiana Repertory Theatre Upper Stage; Translations and G.R. Point at Purdue University; Tale of Two Cities and Young Black Beauty for Stage One of Louisville. His most recent designs in the Indianapolis area include Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat and Talley’s Folley at Edyvean Repertory Theatre, and numerous productions at the University of Indianapolis including Hamlet and God’s Favorite.

Jim received his bachelor of arts degree from Culver-Stockton College and his master of fine arts degree in design from Purdue University. He specializes in design and theatre technology.

Brad has directed numerous productions at UIndy, including, most recently, Leading Ladies by Ken Ludwig.   Previous productions include Spike Heels by Theresa Rebeck, Hedda Gabler by Henrik Ibsen, the old-time melodrama Caught in the Villain's Web: or More Sinned Against than Sinning, Marc Camoletti's Don't Dress for Dinner, James McLure's Laundry and Bourbon/Lone Star, Alan Ayckbourn's Bedroom Farce, Euripides' The Trojan Women, Samuel Beckett's Endgame, Peter Shaffer's Black Comedy, Frederick Knott's Wait Until Dark, Shakespeare's As You Like It, Noel Coward's Blithe Spirit, Sophocles' Antigone, David Ives' All in the Timing, Sam Shepard's A Lie of the Mind, Neil Simon's God's Favorite, Shakespeare's Hamlet, Chekhov's The Three Sisters, Ray Cooney's Out of Order, Harold Pinter's Old Times, Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream and Twelfth Night, Moliere's The Learned Ladies, Corinne Jacker's Later, Edward Albee's Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, Larry Shue's The Nerd, and Alan Ayckbourn's Taking Steps. In the spring of 2000, Brad directed a collaborative production of Brecht's Galileo with the Edyvean Repertory Theatre. During the summer of 1999, in a co-production with the Phoenix Theatre, he directed the world premiere of Rita Kohn's play A Different Journey. In the summer of 1998, he mounted The Harper's Tale, a "musictelling" piece based on Beowulf, for Tales & Scales, a professional company based in Evansville. Previously, he was Director of Theatre at Wilkes University in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania where he directed Macbeth and Much Ado About Nothing at Wilkes University's outdoor Summer Shakespeare, and David Rabe's Sticks and Bones, Sophocles' Antigone, Sam Shepard's A Lie of the Mind, and Michael Frayn's Noises Off.  Both Spike Heels and Endgame were invited to be performed at Region III festivals of the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival.

Brad received his Bachelor of Science and Master of Arts degrees in theatre from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, and his Ph.D. from Cornell University, in Ithaca, New York. He specializes in directing, acting, play analysis, and theatre history.


Cate Moran

Cate is an Assistant Professor at the University of Indianapolis. She has college and high school teaching, designing and directing experience, as well as freelance design credits in education and film. She has lived and worked in Australia, Saudia Arabia, and London. Her degrees (MFA in Design, MFA in Theatre Teacher Training, and BFA in Acting) are all from The University of Texas in Austin. Cate teaches Costume Design, Theatrical Makeup, Drawing for the Theatre, and Theatre Education classes. Her design credits at Uindy include Hedda Gabler, The Mikado, Caught in the Villain’s Web, Baby, Bedroom Farce, The Trojan Women, Black Comedy, and Pippin. In 2007, she directed The Shape of Things, which was invited to be performed at the 2008 Kennedy Center American College Region III Theatre Festival. Cate will again teach Greece: The Birthplace of Theatre on our campus in Athens, Greece for Spring Term 2009.

Jen is pleased to be returning to Indianapolis after a six year absence. Before leaving, Jen taught theatre classes at the University of Indianapolis and Butler University. Jen was also seen onstage in the Indianapolis area at IRT in Mother of the Movement, Edyvean Repertory Theatre playing Catherine in The Heiress, Beatrice in Much Ado About Nothing, and Ilona in The Play’s the Thing. Most recently, Jen directed Into the Woods, Red Herring, Baby, and Pippin at UIndy, Enchanted April, Of Mice and Men, and The Crucible at Indianapolis Civic Theatre, and Medal of Honor Rag for Theatre Non Nobis at the Indianapolis Fringe Festival.  She also was the dialect coach for the Dinner Theatre productions of Leading Ladies, Black Comedy and Bedroom Farce and Costume Designer for Don't Dress for Dinner and Speak Truth To Power.  Before leaving Indianapolis, Jen worked on the University of Indianapolis production of Learned Ladies as scenic artist and movement coach. Outside of Indianapolis, Jen has acted with such companies as Utah Shakespearean Festival, Defiant Theatre of Chicago, The Lady Cavaliers in NYC, and Bottom’s Dream Arts in NYC. She also appeared as Lady Macduff in Tristan Film’s Macbeth-The Comedy, which won the Audience Award for Best Feature at the New York International Independent Film & Video Festival, and was Fest Pick for Funniest Film at Philadelphia International Gay & Lesbian Film Festival. Jen most recently lived in her home state of Oklahoma working as Assistant Professor of Theatre at Northeastern State University where she directed A Midsummer Night’s Dream, The Legend of Sleepy Hollow,Broken Arrow: Best Town Under the Moon! and Calendar Rhythms for the River City Players. She received her BFA in Theatre from University of Oklahoma and Master of Fine Arts in Acting at University of Illinois. Jen is a member of Actors Equity Association, and is also a Nationally Certified Massage Therapist. In addition to teaching, Jen also manages the University Box Office.
