Theatre Teaching Major
In conjunction with the School of Education, the Department of Theatre offers a teaching degree in Theatre. This degree provides you with the opportunity to complete your teaching degree in four years while taking the coursework in Education necessary for certification. Furthermore, you will take the core Theatre courses necessary to prepare you to teach Theatre and to produce plays at the high school level.

Music/Theatre Concentration
The Department of Theatre does not offer a degree in Musical Theatre. However, for those students who wish to combine their Theatre studies with Music, we offer the Music/Theatre Concentration. This concentration allows students in Theatre and in Music to streamline their course work in the other discipline.

Theatre curriculum and a tentative schedule of future course offerings
Theatre Minor
THE-120, 131, 231, 241, 340, and 341 and one theatre design course; THE 221, 222, or 223.
The university sets minimum standards of academic performance and places on probation any student who fails to meet these standards. Scholarship probation is determined twice a year: at the conclusion of Semester I and at the conclusion of Summer Session II. Students placed on academic probation are restricted to 12 to 13 hours per regular semester and are not eligible for active participation in any organization that officially represents the institution. [n.b. This may include participation as cast or crew in any Departmental production.]
A student is placed on academic probation if his or her grade point average falls below these standards:
